Winery: :Panizzi

The Panizzi label first appeared in 1989 since when it has made its way into the upper echelon of Italian wines. Panizzi’s La Vernaccia di San Gimignano di Panizzi is enjoyed throughout the world and reviews in all guides to Italian wines consistently name it as one of the best.

Location :San Gimignano - Siena - Tuscany

Name :D.O.C.G. Vernaccia di San Gimignano

Grapes :93% Vernaccia di San Gimignano, 7% altre uve a bacca bianca

Alcohol :13 % Vol.

Vinification :Soft pressing is followed by alcohol fermentation at 18°C in temperature controlled steel vats, after which it is allowed to settle for 5 months of aging on first lees (yeast).

Tasting Notes :Brilliant, with a fairly clear pale yellow with obvious green reflections, it has a complex bouquet, impenetrable yet delicate with notes initially reminiscent of jasmine and lime flowers, followed by a suggestion of various fruits including green apples, pears and grapefruit. Balanced, dry and fragrant to the palate thanks to the right level of acidity that underlines the perception of fruits and citrus. A pleasantly persistent aftertaste that is slightly bitter.
